Do you break out in a cold sweat at the thought of planning for next year? Does the mention of "strategic planning" make you choke?  

I have good news for you.  You probably don't need the everyone-together-all-day planning event that results in a pretty document added to your shelf.  You do if you have been CEO at the company for less than a year and have not laid out your vision and plan, or if the business is subject to major changes in the near future (or has undergone such recently).
